About the role
Building relationships. Creating opportunities. Driving growth.
If you’re someone people naturally enjoy talking to, who can build trust quickly and turn conversations into business opportunity, this could be the role for you. You’ll help shape the growth of our Employee Benefits division, working alongside senior directors and consultants who are ready to back you.
This is a business development role with real influence. Reporting to the Employee Benefits Head of Business Development, you’ll be responsible for increasing new business enquiries across our employee benefits proposition; workplace pensions, group risk, healthcare and our online solutions.
You’ll build and maintain relationships with key professional contacts and referrers, develop strategic partnerships when the opportunity arises, and work closely with our consultants to make sure every introduction leads to the right outcome for the client. You’ll nurture business contact relationships to keep them informed of Mattioli Woods and our activities.
Relationships are at the heart of this role, so who you are matters as much as what you know. We’re looking for someone engaging, curious and genuinely interested in people, who is just as comfortable in a relaxed conversation as in a boardroom, and who leaves a lasting impression.
What we’re looking for:
- proven experience in a business development role, ideally within a service business such as financial services
- the ability to build and sustain credible relationships with professional contacts, referrers and suppliers
- genuine curiosity about people and their businesses, and the confidence to network at all levels
- excellent written and spoken communication skills
- an organised, flexible approach, with the ability to set targets, monitor performance and stay calm under pressure
- an understanding of the regulatory frameworks that shape our industry (desirable)
What’s in it for you:
- hybrid working, combining home and office-based collaboration
- 34.5-hour working week and 25 days’ holiday, increasing with service
- pension scheme with 5% employer contribution
- health cash plan, life assurance and group income protection
- ongoing training, development and real long-term career opportunities within an ambitious and supportive culture
Mattioli Woods is one of the UK’s leading wealth management and employee benefits consultancies. We work with individuals, families, business owners and senior professionals on some of the most important financial decisions of their lives, and we’re continuing to grow our Employee Benefits division.
We are committed to creating an inclusive workplace and welcome applications from people of all backgrounds. We’re proud to foster a culture where colleagues feel supported, respected and able to thrive.
If you’re looking for a role where your relationships make a direct and visible impact on business growth, we’d like to hear from you.
