Battery E/E System & Hardware Senior Engineer

Objective of job

• The Battery E/E System&Hardware position at Mercedes-Benz RD China is looking for a highly-functioning, dedicated, and versatile E/E system Engineer who can lead sophisticated projects and develop products that fulfil targets and comply with market regulation.You will be responsible for working through dependencies between major stakeholders (e.g. drivetrain and car-line), deliver measurable outcomes matching project milestones. You will be leading:
• Specifications creation for HV battery E/E system and components (BMS, BDU, E/E connection etc.), requirement clarification, concept development, , and system validation (EMC, LVPN, HVPN,HVS etc.. )
• Busbar, wiring harness design and validation with supplier
• As well as battery/vehicle level E/E and functional verification, typical functions and features as voltage/temperature/current sensing, TP detection, Precharge, Isolation detection
• For life cycle management, responsible for HV battery E/E system and components related incidents after SOP, root cause analysis, countermeasure definition, validation, release and implementation
• As leader of EE defect management you must maintain defect overview, steer root-cause analysis, matching fix timing and report frequently to management
• Steering project team (internal and external) globally to develop/localize HV battery E/E according to specification with great report preparation and presenting skill
• Timeline management, stakeholder management, lessons learned management, risk management
• Budget planning and expense control for the responsible project(s)
• Extensive networking and coorperation between Germany correcsponding departments & RD China organization
• Benchmarking competitor HV battery E/E and monitoring furture HV battery relevant technology development for E/E
• Other relevant works assigned by supervisor

Qualification

• Master or Bachelor in electrical, automotive engineering or equivalent fields.

• 3+ years of OEM or supplier working experience in high voltage battery E/E system and hardware from development to SOP.

• Global project experience preferred.

Specific knowledge

• Profound knowledge and development practical experience in automotive high voltage battery EE system, from requirements definition, system archithecture design, EE components selection to system validation.
• Familiar with main suppliers and solutions of BMS & EE components(busbar, contactor,Pyrofuse,CSM,IMD,etc.) in the market , and good supplier steering skill
• Closely following new technology trend of BMS and Battery EE, and preferred experience of innovation project
• Strong experience in busbar and wiring harness design & validation
• Strong experience in E/E related validation standard(EMC,LVPN/electrical test, HVPN/high voltage powernet, HV safety etc).
• Strong capability and experience of failure analysis, familiar with failure analysis methods.
• Experience in Vector/ETAS CAN tools for testing and issue analysis
• Prefer experience in modern project management tools (e.g. confluence) and failure management tools (e.g. Jira) desirable
• High voltage qualification as electrical specialist or other comparable qualification preferred
• Practical driving experience beneficial
• Skillful of MS office package
• Fluent in written and spoken English, German beneficial
• Clear and effective communication skills, ability to speak and write effectively at all organizational levels
• Passionate in work and strong ability to take pressure and challenges, and enjoy working in a team with diverse cultural backgrounds
