Description
At Dweck, our business is real estate, but our focus is the human state. Our mission is to deliver kindness in every interaction, through clarity, grace, and empathy. This results in meaningful, enduring connections between our team, with our residents, and within the communities we serve.
That commitment starts with our people. We’re proud to have been named a 2026 Best Place to Work by the Washington Business Journal, a recognition that reflects the culture our team has built together.
Position Overview
As an Assistant Property Manager at Dweck, you’ll help support the day-to-day operations and performance of your community. Working closely with the Property Manager, you’ll contribute across financial operations, leasing and occupancy, resident relations, team support, and property operations.
This is a hands-on role for someone who understands multifamily operations, takes ownership of details, and knows how to balance business priorities with a thoughtful resident and team member experience. You’ll also step in to support community leadership when the Property Manager is unavailable.
What You’ll Do
- Support daily community operations. Partner with the Property Manager and onsite teams to keep priorities organized, follow through on operational needs, and maintain consistent service and property standards.
- Manage accounts receivable and delinquency. Collect and post payments, monitor resident balances, communicate with residents regarding past-due accounts, issue required notices, prepare delinquency reporting, and support collections and legal processes in accordance with applicable requirements.
- Maintain accurate financial records. Assist with invoices, deposits, account reconciliations, move-in and move-out charges, security deposit dispositions, bad debt processing, and other bookkeeping responsibilities.
- Support leasing and occupancy. Assist with tours, applications, applicant qualification, lease documentation, renewals, notices to vacate, resident retention, and leasing follow-up as business needs require.
- Strengthen the resident experience. Respond to questions and concerns promptly, coordinate follow-up, support resident events, and build relationships that encourage satisfaction and retention.
- Partner with maintenance. Coordinate with the Maintenance Supervisor, service team, vendors, and contractors on resident needs, apartment turns, inspections, work scheduling, and property conditions.
- Maintain organized records and compliance. Keep lease files, resident records, reports, notices, and operational documentation accurate and aligned with Dweck procedures and applicable requirements.
- Support and develop the onsite team. Help onboard and train team members, reinforce required processes and training, provide day-to-day guidance, and contribute to a collaborative and accountable environment.
- Contribute to community performance. Monitor leasing, collections, resident retention, and service trends; share observations with the Property Manager; and help identify opportunities to improve results.
- Provide leadership coverage. Support decision-making and continuity of operations when the Property Manager is unavailable, escalating significant concerns appropriately.
As an Assistant Property Manager, you’ll help bring our commitments to Be Outstanding, Do What Matters, Take Care, Stay Curious, and Live the Truth to life through your attention to detail, support of the onsite team, and service to residents.
