Broaden your leadership. Shape vital services. Build your future in public finance.
The Opportunity
Take on a role with the breadth, responsibility and influence to shape your future in local government finance.
Reporting to our client’s Director of Corporate Resources, you will be Deputy Section 151 Officer, leading finance alongside pension investments and administration, procurement, supply chain management, internal audit and assurance. You will also play a key partnership role in the continued development of East Midlands Shared Service (EMSS).
Supported by experienced Heads of Service, you will advise elected Members, influence corporate decisions, translate strategy into practical improvements and take the lead on corporate initiatives.
This is an outstanding opportunity to make a significant contribution while developing the wider service leadership, commercial judgement and political experience that could provide a strong foundation for ongoing career progression.

You will join a supportive Corporate Resources leadership team within an organisation that values curiosity, continuous improvement and professional development. Flexible hybrid working, membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme and a strong commitment to employee wellbeing contribute to an attractive overall package.
Candidates
This role calls for relevant finance leadership experience in a complex public sector organisation, with the professional expertise and judgement to command confidence on financial strategy, significant budgets and statutory responsibilities.
We are particularly interested in experienced finance leaders, whatever their current title, who want to broaden their remit and increase their corporate impact. Politically astute and clear in your advice, you will build trust with Members, colleagues and partners, inspire experienced teams and demonstrate a record of delivering change. Above all, you will be a pragmatic problem solver who takes ownership of solutions, with the curiosity and adaptability to lead beyond finance and embrace new responsibilities as the Council’s needs evolve.
