About the role
The Application Support Analyst provides administration, technical and functional support, maintenance, and continuous improvement for enterprise business applications, with a primary focus on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O). This role owns the operational processing and validation of financial data within D365 F&O, including billing, payments, revenue, and expenses, to support accuracy, financial integrity, and compliance with applicable requirements.
The Application Support Analyst monitors financial batch jobs, manages application configurations, troubleshoots issues, and supports reliable integrations and workflows across business functions. This position serves as a liaison among business stakeholders, IT, developers, and external vendors to resolve issues, improve application performance, and promote effective system utilization. This is an individual contributor position with no direct reports.
MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Own the operational processing and validation of billing, payments, revenue, and expense data within D365 F&O. Monitor and execute scheduled financial batch jobs, validate timely and accurate completion, troubleshoot failures, and resolve or escalate issues to support financial integrity, business deadlines, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Serve as the primary contact for application support requests and the primary owner of triaging technical and functional configuration issues across D365 F&O modules and related enterprise applications. Manage incidents through the enterprise ticketing system, investigate root causes, identify recurring issues, and coordinate resolution or escalation of complex application, infrastructure, integration, and code-related problems.
Configure and maintain application settings, workflows, security roles, user access, and system controls in accordance with approved business requirements and security standards. Coordinate configuration changes across D365 F&O modules and associated upstream and downstream processes to maintain reliable operations and appropriate access.
Monitor and validate application integrations, interfaces, and related batch jobs to support accurate and reliable data flow. Partner closely with Application Support Engineers, developers, and vendors to maintain, enhance, test, and support custom code, D365 objects, and system integrations.
Coordinate application upgrades, patches, maintenance, and enhancement deployments to minimize business disruption. Gather requirements, support or lead user acceptance testing, document changes, and assist with implementation and post-deployment stabilization in accordance with IT change management processes.
Maintain application inventories, architecture diagrams, configuration records, technical specifications, operational runbooks, and knowledge base content. Develop user guides and training materials, and deliver onboarding and ongoing guidance to improve system utilization and adoption of effective practices.
Partner with business stakeholders to evaluate enhancement requests and identify opportunities to improve workflows, reporting, and operational efficiency. Use approved AI tools, low-code platforms, and automation technologies to support documentation, ticket analysis, and process improvements, and collaborate with technical teams to test and validate solutions.
Coordinate with business units, IT teams, and external vendors to support service continuity, resolve escalations, and manage support needs, licensing compliance, and supported application versions. Prioritize assigned work independently, communicate service impacts and resolution status.
Other duties as assigned.
