Position Summary

Booker T. Washington Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Facility is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and energetic Activity Assistant to join our team. The Activity Assistant will help plan and coordinate recreational, social, and therapeutic activities that enhance residents' quality of life and promote social engagement.

• Assist the Activity Director with planning and conducting daily activities.

• Encourage residents to participate in group and individual activities.

• Organize bingo, arts and crafts, music, games, exercise programs, and special events.

• Provide one-on-one visits for residents who cannot participate in group activities.

• Escort residents to and from activity programs as needed.

• Assist with decorating for holidays, birthdays, and special occasions.

• Maintain activity supplies and keep activity areas clean and organized.

• Document resident participation and attendance.

• Promote residents' dignity, independence, and social well-being.

• Follow facility policies, safety procedures, and infection control guidelines.

• Perform other duties as assigned by the Activity Director or Administrator.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

• Previous experience in healthcare, activities, or long-term care preferred.

• Must have a positive attitude and enjoy working with the elderly.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Dependable, patient, creative, and organized.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
