Accounting Specialist I, Experienced

The Intercompany GL Accounting Expert is responsible for leading the analysis, reconciliation, and resolution of complex intercompany accounting transactions across the Americas region. The role ensures the accuracy and integrity of intercompany balances, drives the resolution of Out-of-Balance (OOB) positions, supports month-end close activities, and partners with multiple stakeholders to mitigate financial risks and improve financial reporting quality.

The position serves as a subject matter expert for intercompany accounting, providing technical guidance, supporting process improvements, and ensuring compliance with corporate accounting policies, US GAAP requirements, and internal control standards.

Main Responsibilities

• Lead the analysis, investigation, and resolution of complex Intercompany Out-of-Balance (OOB) positions.
• Perform and govern Intercompany account reconciliations through Trintech and other financial systems.
• Support month-end close activities, including accruals, reconciliations, and financial analysis.
• Identify root causes of accounting discrepancies and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with Intercompany accounting policies, US GAAP requirements, and SOX controls.
• Partner with Controllers, Finance, Operations, AP, AR, and Shared Services teams to resolve complex accounting matters.
• Monitor and analyze In-Transit, Transfer Premium, and other key Intercompany transactions.
• Support acquisitions, business integrations, and new accounting activities across the Americas region.
• Drive process improvements, standardization, and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and strengthen controls.
• Provide support for internal and external audits and other compliance-related activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in Accounting, General Ledger, Intercompany Accounting, or Financial Reporting.
• Advanced English proficiency (written and verbal).
• Experience working in a multinational company and/or Shared Services environment.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and reconciliation processes.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP and/or Oracle preferred) and reconciliation tools such as Trintech.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, influence stakeholders, and manage complex issues across multiple functions and regions.
• Continuous improvement mindset with experience identifying process optimization opportunities
