About the role
What's the role?
We're looking for a Social Content & Influencer Manager to join Medium Rare's Social Centre of Excellence and help shape the future of social marketing across some of Australia's most iconic brands.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced social specialist who thrives at the intersection of creativity, culture, content and commercial outcomes. A hands-on all-rounder who loves the craft of social, and who is just as comfortable shaping social strategy for a new business pitch as they are briefing creators or heading out into the world to shoot content.
Working across Medium Rare, Visual Domain and Storyation, you'll lead campaigns for a healthy mix of clients in a variety of sectors, including financial services, aviation, healthcare and food. You’ll also have a wealth of influencer experience to share with the CoE and the rest of the agency teams.
As part of the Social CoE, you'll work closely with social leads, strategists, creatives, producers and client teams (commercial and content) to deliver impactful, social-first campaigns that drive engagement, reach and business results.
What this role is about
This role exists to help strengthen and grow Medium Rare’s social offering, while making sure the social content we produce across our agencies is best in class.
You'll be the person who turns social strategy into great content. That means strong conceptual thinking, editorial planning, copywriting, influencer and creator management, and, when it's needed, picking up a phone and shooting short-form video yourself.
You'll work across retained social clients and new business opportunities, applying your expertise to make sure that everything we create is rooted in platform best practice and strong audience insights.
- Ideate social-first content, from always-on formats to campaign moments and reactive opportunities
- Help develop social strategies, content pillars and content formats for retained clients, campaigns and new business pitches
- Expertly write in each client’s tone of voice, crafting sharp, platform-native copy
- Proactively identify emerging creators, platform trends and partnership opportunities
- Lead influencer and creator activity end to end: strategy, identification, outreach, negotiation, contracting, briefing and delivery
- Shoot and edit content on your phone when needed, from street vox pops to on-location and behind-the-scenes capture
- Bring social thinking and ideas to new business pitches, then help new clients settle in during onboarding
- Monitor campaign performance and provide reporting, insights and recommendations
Who are you?
- You're a social content specialist with 5+ years' experience in social media, ideally agency-side, across a range of brands and categories
- You’re an ideas person. You come up with big, platform-native, audience-first ideas (not just trend-led executions)
- You're a strong copywriter with a real feel for tone of voice, and you can switch quickly between a bank, an airline and a supermarket
- You can script, shoot, and edit solo
- You’ve run influencer campaigns from strategy and identification through to contracting, briefing and delivery. You understand usage rights, disclosure requirements and how to brief creators properly
- Community management and performance reporting are in your social toolkit, too
- You live online, in the best way. You know the trends, the formats, the niche corners of the internet, and the latest platform updates
- You operate confidently across multiple stakeholders, build strong relationships and bring a balance of strategic thinking, commercial acumen and hands-on delivery
- You are highly organised, naturally collaborative and passionate about social culture, creators and emerging platforms
