About the role
Principal, Product Management: Learning Modes
Location: UK - Remote
Descriptor: This role aligns to Principal Product Manager.
Pearson is the world's lifelong learning company. In Enterprise Learning & Skills division we are building the next set of products to help enterprises up-skill their employees in AI. This is a big new bet solving immediate problems for enterprises that have never been solved before.
About the role
Employees are being asked to become AI capable while tools, workflows and expectations change at the same time, and most AI training ignores where a person starts, what their job requires and whether anything changed afterward,
You own how employees move from their current level of AI fluency to the next one by helping them learn new skills. That means deciding which courses to recommend, which learning modes to test, how each mode is matched to a learner's role and needs, and what evidence shows that it worked. You are accountable for learner outcomes: fluency gains , completion of the full assess-learn-assess loop, and the rate at which new modes are tested and either adopted or dropped.
You lead through evidence, strategy, experimentation and direct partnership with engineering, learning science, content and assessment teams. You will make and defend trade-offs that cost money: which modes do we build, which get a partnership, and which get funded or cut after testing.
What you'll do
Own the course recommendation logic: define how assessments , role and skill gaps map to specific courses and modules, so a learner's diagnosis produces their plan.
Own the mapping between assessed skills and available content, working with content and assessment teams to close gaps where no course exists and retire courses that do not move the score.
Own the learning modes roadmap: define the set of modes we test, with stated experimentation plans and stage gates on investment. Responsible for rolling out the modes to learners and driving future adoption and effectiveness . Work with the assessment and outcomes teams for dat on what was recommended, what was learned and what ouctomes did it deliver.
- Work with partnership teams to source and structure partnerships for modes.
What we're looking for
- 8+ years in setting visions and building products working directly with engineering
- Experience building recommendation or personalization logic
- Experience running experiments, including holdout or staggered rollout designs.
- A record of killing features when that dont work
- Proven ability to lead complex, ambiguous initiatives through influence
What we would love
- Hands-on with generative AI in product: you have prompted, evaluated and shipped model-backed features, and you know failure modes.
- Experience in corporate L&D, workforce skilling or Ed-tech
- An eye for design and know what great UX looks like
