The role
Lead front-line electrical package delivery safely and productively. Organise work fronts, brief crews, measure outputs and provide accurate records so installation progresses to programme, quality and budget.
A crew needs clear instructions, ready work fronts and a manager who follows through. Show us the teams you led and the work they delivered safely and correctly.
Key responsibilities
- Allocate daily work with the latest drawings, materials, tools, access and information. Maintain a minimum three-day look-ahead.
- Coordinate with other trades, remove constraints early and escalate blockers to the Construction Manager.
- Brief RAMS, confirm permits and lead daily safe-plan-of-action or pre-task briefings.
- Measure outputs against planned productivity, identify losses and give practical performance feedback, including CENLOMAP inputs.
- Record daily labour allocations, hours, activities and downtime. Flag crew-mix and budget variances.
- Own installation checks, snag closure and test readiness within your work package.
- Track drawing revisions, raise clear RFIs and maintain progress and as-installed mark-ups.
- Capture scope changes, instructions and dayworks with labour, plant, materials and required sign-offs.
- Maintain plant and tool checks, custody and utilisation with the Storeman and Construction Manager.
- Provide factual daily whiteboard updates and timely inputs to weekly reporting.
What we are looking for
The role is typically around 50% supervision and 50% productive work unless project scope requires otherwise. Rotation is project dependent.
- Proven experience as a Package Manager, supervisor, chargehand or leading hand on sizeable electrical construction projects.
- Strong practical knowledge of electrical installation and the work being managed.
- Ability to lead crews, maintain morale, address underperformance and uphold safety and quality standards.
- SSSTS/SMSTS or equivalent, with Safe Pass, CSCS, VCA or relevant credentials for the assigned location.
- Trade qualification highly desirable for working managers; First Aid desirable.
- Competence reading drawings and using tablets, email, Teams, basic Excel and Oculo or equivalent.
- Bluebeam or similar drawing mark-up skills preferred.
- Previous data centre experience desirable, but not essential where you can demonstrate strong electrical installation and crew leadership experience.
Bring the evidence
Experience matters. Evidence earns trust. Tell us what you personally owned and the results you delivered.
- Crew sizes, electrical installation scope and your package management or supervisory responsibilities.
- Examples of improving output, removing constraints or preventing rework.
- References able to confirm safety leadership, team management and accurate reporting.
Anonymised examples and figures are welcome. We may follow up with references; confidential employer, client or employee records are not required.
How success is measured
Safe work, ready work fronts, measured productivity, quality first time, accurate daily records and prompt variation capture.
Responsibility and judgement
Direct your crew within the agreed work package. Escalate programme, technical and commercial issues to the Construction Manager. Stop unsafe work and ensure the correct controls are restored.
Why join Centum
Bring your electrical trade and leadership experience to major European data centre projects. Work with experienced colleagues, develop your capability and take responsibility for delivery.
European rotations are available according to assignment. Rotation, travel, accommodation and any assignment-specific pay or tax arrangements will be explained during recruitment. These depend on the project, employment arrangements and individual circumstances.
Be clear about the location
You can’t manage an electrical package from your spare room.
If your project is in Portugal, Sweden or the Netherlands, you will need to be there with your crew.
Expect to live near the project during your working rotation. This is a working site role, not an occasional visit. Project location and rotation arrangements will be discussed during recruitment.
