About the role
What You’ll Do
- Operate and monitor production equipment in your assigned area (such as the Supply, Stacker, or Bundler areas).
- Handle and stage raw materials, board, and supplies to keep the line running.
- Perform frequent visual quality inspections and follow all quality procedures.
- Read production and cut lists and react to changing product requirements.
- Follow all operating and safety procedures, including lock-out/tag-out and area job-safety analyses.
- Stay alert to the process — watch for problems, listen for alarms, and stay aware of lift trucks in a high-traffic area.
- Operate a forklift, maintain housekeeping in your area, and take part in weekly crew safety meetings.
What We’re Looking For
- Must be at least 18 years of age (this role requires operating a forklift and other power-driven equipment).
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, hands-on production environment and able to multitask.
- Able to adapt to changing conditions and notice subtle changes in the process.
- Basic math skills and the ability to read a tape measure.
- Able to operate a forklift (training provided).
- Dependable and safety-focused, able to work independently or with a team.
Schedule
Full-time, rotating 12-hour shifts — day (7:00 am–7:00 pm) and night (7:00 pm–7:00 am), rotating every two weeks. Overtime as required.
What to Expect on the Job
This is an active, hands-on role in a manufacturing plant — a great fit if you like staying busy and working with a team. So you know what a typical shift looks like:
- You’ll be on your feet and moving for most of a 12-hour shift.
- The work is physical and hands-on: regular lifting, carrying, bending, reaching, and climbing stairs or ladders.
- You’ll lift and carry items up to 50 lb; anything heavier is a team lift or handled with equipment — you won’t move heavy loads on your own.
- Like most manufacturing plants, the facility isn’t climate-controlled, so it can be hot in summer and cold in winter.
- We provide the required safety gear — safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, safety boots, and a hard hat.
- You should be able to perform the essential functions of the assigned position, with or without a reasonable accommodation — if you’d need one, just let us know.
