MIG/FCAW Shop Welder

Skillforce is currently hiring an experienced MIG/FCAW Shop Welder for a busy fabrication shop in Anaheim, CA. The ideal candidates will have experience reading blueprints and performing structural steel welds using MIG and FCAW (flux-core) welding processes, including .068-inch NR-232 wire.

Pay: $32–$34 an hour, depending on skill set and experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG and FCAW welding on structural steel components and assemblies.
• Weld prefabricated steel products before shipment to jobsites.
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and welding symbols.
• Position and fit metal components for welding.
• Experience welding in multiple positions, including flat, vertical, and overhead.
• Prepare metal surfaces and weld areas as needed.
• Inspect completed welds for quality and accuracy.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a shop welder or in a structural steel fabrication environment preferred.
• Experience with MIG and/or FCAW welding; experience with .068-inch NR-232 wire is preferred.
• AWS, LA City, or other welding certifications are a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
