Main responsibilities
- Work with operational stakeholders and Digital teams to understand operational challenges and translate them into predictive modelling and optimization solutions
- Design, develop, validate, and deploy predictive and optimization models that support operational planning, maintenance, and decision-making
- Apply statistical and machine learning techniques, including feature engineering, pattern recognition and anomaly detection, to complex operational data to develop reliable predictions
- Build scalable, maintainable and production-ready data science solutions, applying modern software engineering practices, including clean, tested and reusable code and test-driven development where appropriate
- Contribute to MLOps practices, including model deployment, monitoring, observability and continuous improvement of data science and optimization solutions
- Ensure high standards for data quality, model validation, governance, and responsible use of AI
- Communicate findings, model outcomes, risks and recommendations to technical and business stakeholders, and contribute to improving data science and engineering practices within Intelligent Operations.
Our expectations
- Master's degree or higher in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Operations Research or another relevant quantitative field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, Operations Research or a similar analytical role
- Strong foundation in mathematics, statistics and machine learning, with practical experience in predictive modelling and familiarity with techniques such as multivariate time-series analysis, feature engineering, pattern recognition, and anomaly detection
- Strong Python programming skills and an interest in software engineering, including testing, version control, CI/CD and MLOps practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with complex data and communicate findings to technical and business stakeholders
- Experience with AWS, predictive maintenance, sensor data, or aviation is considered an advantage
- Fluency in English is required; Finnish language skills are an advantage.
