Custodian (9108)

Provides a variety of cleaning duties and maintains the building to ensure the upkeep, neatness, and cleanliness of the same on a daily basis.

Cleans and sanitizes bathrooms; cleans sinks and toilets, polishes mirrors, and replenishes supplies.

Sweeps, vacuums, mops floors; sweeps sidewalks.

Cleans windows; dusts and polishes furniture and fixtures.

Empty trash cans regularly; collects trash from grounds and cleans trash cans.

Assists in unloading and carrying of donations and other Salvation Army materials.

Assembles and moves office furniture including chairs, desks, tables, bulletin boards, etc. Assists in setting up meeting rooms; sets up tables and chairs; puts ice in glasses and sets out drinks.

Opens/closes building as scheduled; raises and lowers all flags daily; displays special signs as needed.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or G.E.D.

and

Six months experience performing general janitorial and general maintenance duties;

or

Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
